Science
At St Michael’s, we recognise the importance of scientific development, enjoyment and the acquisition of knowledge and skills through quality study and carrying out investigations. We make every effort to ensure that all children are able to participate fully and develop their science capital according to their skills and individual needs. We provide opportunities for our children to undertake a balanced programme of investigation, experimentation and theory, building on previous work and their achievements. We provide them with the tools to develop their investigative skills, leading to a desire to learn more about the world around them. Throughout their scientific education at St Michael’s, children learn how different styles of investigation are appropriate for different purposes.
We strongly believe that science enables us to better understand the world around us and gives us a deeper appreciation for our beautiful and amazing world.
